ABOUT US
The Wales Veterinary Science Centre was set up in 2015 by Iechyd Da (a consortium of welsh veterinary practices together with Welsh Lamb and Beef Producers Ltd), working in collaboration with Aberystwyth University. The WVSC was appointed by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) as a partner provider to deliver expert post-mortem examinations (PMEs) of new and re-emerging diseases of farm animals, contributing to an enhanced UK-wide scanning surveillance network. The WVSC is a not-for-profit company which, in addition providing PMEs, also supports the veterinary and agricultural sectors with other diagnostic laboratory testing, advice and training.
Our commitment to our customers:
The WVSC prides itself on the fast and efficient service that it provides but our emphasis is always on quality. Whilst we usually get results out much earlier than the publicised test turnaround times, during busy periods we may not get them out as quickly as you have come to expect. Please be assured that we will always do our utmost to ensure the publicised test turnaround times are adhered to.

We provide post-mortem examinations (PMEs) for farm animals but please phone us if you have other species which require a PME.

Laboratory Services
Laboratory Services
We offer a range of parasitology tests to suit individual animal checks and group/herd monitoring. BVDV testing is also available both as private testing and through the Gwaredu BVD project.

CPD for Vets
We provide a range of Continuing Professional Development courses for Veterinary Surgeons on all aspects of Veterinary Work.
